Class Descriptions

 

 All Cats   A mixed level class designed to explore all the fundamental poses including sun salutations, standing and seated postures, twists, backbends and supported inversions . Variations and modifications are given to adjust your practice while you gain confidence, strength and flexibility.  Appropriate for most levels.

Flowing Cats   A flowing energetic vinyasa practice focused on connecting breath and movement with some options and modifications given to allow for various levels of yoga experience.  Appropriate for most with yoga experience.

Mellow Cats  Relaxing and renewing, this gentle class includes therapeutic movements to facilitate healing and may include use of props with ample time to linger in seated and supine poses.  Appropriate for all levels.

New Cats This class is an introduction to fundamental yoga poses focusing on proper alignment and use of props. Working at a slower pace to increase strength, balance and flexibility, this class also includes the basics of yoga breathing (pranayama). Appropriate for all levels.

Pilates Detail oriented, concentrated movements focusing on strength, muscle toning, body control, with the main emphasis being core strength.  

Warrior Cats  An empowering fitness class utilizing elastic exercise bands to build strength and endurance including lunges, squats, curls and presses. Bands for all levels provided and modifications given for beginners with focus on proper alignment. 

Yin Cats Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Connective tissue responds best to gentle stress over a long period of time, so Yin postures are held for longer periods. This type of practice complements the more muscular styles of yoga and is a great aid for learning to sit in meditation.  Appropriate for most levels.

 Zen Cats  Optional Meditation after the regularly scheduled yoga class.
